Matt Parkinson is a drummer, percussionist and composer based in London. He regularly performs in a variety of different contexts and his playing encompasses elements of jazz, rock, folk, latin, world music and everything in between. He has been fortunate enough to perform at many prestigious venues throughout the UK including Wembley Stadium, Buckingham Palace, The South Bank Centre, Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Jazz Café, The 606 Club, The Camden Forge, The Vortex Jazz Club & The Edinburgh Jazz Bar.

Matt recently graduated from the postgraduate jazz course at the Royal Academy of Music where he studied drum kit with Martin France, Ian Thomas and Jim Hart, percussion with Dave Pattman and Barak Schmool and composition with Pete Churchill.

Alongside jazz, Matt has spent much time studying and performing the traditional folkloric music of Cuba, Brazil and West Africa.
